Description During the second year each country organises a seminar in which people who should become more informed in the field of social security co-ordination (judges, lawyers, lower administrations, NGO’s, etc) are trained in the national language.

Activity Synopsis (ID# 11168) (Hide Synopsis)

Objective(s) Council of Europe experts meet national authorities, lawyers, national experts notably in the health sector and pension funds to discuss European Commission and Council of Europe social security co-ordination principles in the social security field and compliance of national legislation and practice with those principles.
 
Output/Results By means of lectures and working groups, CoE experts try to explain the significance of social security coordination and in practical examples participants are faced with real problems encountered by States when dealing with social security rights for migrants.
 
Conclusions/Follow Up Principles of social security coordination are now better know, and its practical implementation in the pension, health and unemployment sector were examined.
A second training is scheduled mid 2007, before the end of the programme.
