Activity Synopsis (ID# 11173) (Hide Synopsis)

Objective(s) Inform all the social security sectors of the reform needed at national level notably, but also with a regional perspective, in order to comply with EC and CoE regulation on social security co-ordination. Raise awareness in the public sector that still changes are needed.
Output/Results The presentation of the national strategic memorandum and the regional memorandum could be the basis for internal discussions and potential legislative changes. An interesting exchange of views was held during the meeting.
Conclusions/Follow Up All the social security sectors intervened in the meeting. There was an active discussion. Unfortunately, there were no high ranking officials. This was due notably to the fact that the same week, a world meeting on Health was organised in Belgrade. The meeting was covered by a national newspaper (no TV or radio coverage).
As in the other awareness raising meetings organised in the framework of the SISP programme, a potential follow up might be needed under the new Programme, to be started next January 2008.
