Title Video Competition combatting anti-Roma stereotypes and prize-giving ceremony 
Description Through an open competition, art academies/schools, artists and agencies in the participating countries are invited to produce a short video (max 20 minutes) promoting the basic campaign message(s). Cooperation partners will be local and regional broadcasters; a highly visible prize-giving ceremony will be organised in Strasbourg, during the week of Romani movies. The jury will be composed of journalists, broadcasters, Council of Europe and European Commission representatives and representatives of Roma associations including the European Roma and Travellers Forum. The winning productions will be aired free of charge by participating TV stations and used by the Council of Europe and its partners.

Activity Synopsis (ID# 12812) (Hide Synopsis)

Objective(s) To invite Roma and non-Roma video amateurs to produce short videos communicating Dosta! campaign's messages. The video competition was announced in July 2006. The deadline for submitting videos expired on 30 September 2006. 18 videos were submitted and 13 of them passed the preselection. An international Jury composed by Mr. Tony Gatlif, film maker, Ms. Livia Jaroka, European Parliament Member, Mr. Jim Werner, Eurimages, Ms Alexandra Raykova, President of the Forum of European Young Roma People and Ms Claire Stephan, journalist at ARTE, selected the winners.
The prize giving ceremony took place in Strasbourg, on 7th November, during the fortnight of Roma cinema. 
Output/Results Dosta! campaign visibility is increased through the presence of VIPs testimonials within the International Jury, as well as by the highly visible prize giving ceremony jointly organised by the Council of Europe Roma Division, the DGIV Education, the Communication Department and the Odyssée cinema. The Romani movies festival lasted 15 days and the prize giving ceremony was at the programme as one of the special evenings of this event.
