Title 2nd Speaking days on Social Security Co-ordination between Serbia and Montenegro and ''The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia'' 
Description Several representatives of the two countries meet together to solve pending cases and exchange information about new regulations on Social Security. This meeting also offer an opportunity for citizens of either country, who may have claims in respect of social security benefits involving both countries, to present their cases. Such claims may refer to rights to pension, disability, health insurance or other.

Activity Synopsis (ID# 14367) (Hide Synopsis)

Objective(s) The objectives of the activity were the following:
1 - To accelerate the resolution of pending cases in social security matters for claimants who may have acquired rights in the two countries;
2- To provide beneficiaries with information about their rights.
 
Output/Results Representatives of the two countries met together to solve pending cases on social security issues of people working in both countries. More than 220 people showed up, mainly pensioners who face problems in acquiring their pension and health rights or people interested in the calculation of their working period. Most of the pending cases were solved on the spot and free legal advises were provided to all the attendees. Besides the Speaking Days, a separate meeting between the Deputy Ombudsman of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and the Representative of the Republic Fund of Pension and Disability Insurance of Employed of Serbia was organised in order to discuss and find practical solutions to appeals of Macedonian cases faced by the Deputy Ombudsman in its daily activity.
 
Conclusions/Follow Up The experts committed themselves to look deeply into the insolved cases and to contact the relevant claimants once a solution to their cases will be found.
