Activity Synopsis (ID# 15167) (Hide Synopsis)

Output/Results At the regional Seminar current state of affirs in the protection of environment in Europe were discussed. Existing European standards and principles were presented to the participants. Concrete recommendations adopted - recommendations include the examination of feasibility of ratifcation by the CARDS countries of CoE international legal instruments in the field of environment protection. 
Conclusions/Follow Up  
Participants Representatives of judiciary, minitries of justice, internal affairs and environment protection, presecutors offices from the beneficiary CARDS countries. Experts of the CoE and CARDS Justice project, CoE Secretariar and secretariat of CARDS Justice Project. 
Consultants/Experts Prof. Andrea Saccucci (Italy) - Exertise provided on ECHR and ECtHR Case-law with regard to the protection of environment.

Judge Postiglione (Member of the Supreme Court of Italy) - expertise provided on European standards in the protection of environment and CoE internationaln legal instruments in the field of environment protection.
