No Synopsis
Title Report on the assessment of the national legislation with regard to its relation with the Council of Europe convention on social and medical assistance and the interim agreements.
Description This report will especially target the issues of discrimination of foreign populations with regard to their access to health care (and health care assistance), family benefits (and family benefits assistance), and social assistance in general. The idea is to investigate what the legal consequences would be of a possible signature/ratification of these Conventions by the countries/territories involved in this Programme. An overview of national legislation to be adapted due to this possible signature will be provided. Furthermore one looks as well at the consequences in relation with the other signatory parties to this convention (especially the western European countries). As many citizens of the envisaged Balkan countries are residing and/or working in Western Europe, it will be sketched to what extent the possible signature/ratification of these conventions will affect the legal position of the citizens of the project countries in living/residing/working in Western Europe.
