Activity Synopsis (ID# 18899) (Hide Synopsis)

Objective(s) Expert roundtable discussion on importance of establishing transparent and measurable criteria for selection, promotion, disciplinary and dismissal procedures of judges and public prosecutors in the Republic of Serbia. 
Output/Results The vivid discussion on the clear measurable criteria and standards for judges and prosecutors productivity was provoked among the stakeholders. This dialogue was prerequisite for the future legislative drafting processes in the field. 
Conclusions/Follow Up The main outcomes of the roundtable:
• The dialog between stakeholders was provoked
• The judges and prosecutors articulated interest that the selection, appointment should be solely besides on merit
• The Working Group members had the first hand knowledge of the concrete examples of criteria from the comparative perspective

This event significantly contributed to building the consensus and determination of the reform of the judiciary. It enabled the exchange of knowledge and experience -thus contributing to the expected impact of the project objective 2.
