Project Purpose 2 - 2006/DG1/JP/1668   Effective leadership, strategic management in the provision of public services and community participation in Local Authorities (LAs)
Expected Result 2.1 - 2.1 Best Practice local authorities (in selected areas in leadership, service provision and community participation) officially recognised and their success celebrated. Practical, tailor-made training programmes (including tools and materials) focused on achieving better quality local government developed on the basis of identified Best Practice. Experience exchanged and co-operation enhanced between local authorities across Serbia.

Activity Synopsis (ID# 19717) (Hide Synopsis)

Objective(s) Organise the following activities

a) Organisation of one-day training for shortlisted local authorities
b) Preparatory meetings for, and organisation of, a Best Practice Awards’ Conference
c) Organisation of a Study visit for representatives of 10 Best Practice municipalities
d) Preparation and publication of a Best Practice Booklet
Output/Results All the above mentioned activities have been successfully implemented. 
Conclusions/Follow Up Further dissemination is of best pratices of the awarded Serbian pilot Municipalities is foreseen thanks to OSCE support. A proposal of 2nd Round of the Best Practice Programme 2009/2010 should also be submitted to the European Commission in cooperation with the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM)
