Project Purpose 2 - 2006/DG1/JP/1668   Effective leadership, strategic management in the provision of public services and community participation in Local Authorities (LAs)
Expected Result 2.1 - 2.1 Best Practice local authorities (in selected areas in leadership, service provision and community participation) officially recognised and their success celebrated. Practical, tailor-made training programmes (including tools and materials) focused on achieving better quality local government developed on the basis of identified Best Practice. Experience exchanged and co-operation enhanced between local authorities across Serbia.

Activity Synopsis (ID# 20206) (Hide Synopsis)

Objective(s) Help Serbian local authorities to be more effective via the use of a Leadership Benchmark Tool enabling them to assess their effectiveness in the field of leadership, service delivery and community engagement and develop subsequent detailed plans of action.
Output/Results The Phase 4 of the Leadership Programme includes the following items:

The following activities have been successfully implemented by the SCTM:

1. The organisation of Workshop for the pilots municipalities (which hosted peers’ visits) to examination of their respective Peers Reviews Reports and help them to prepare their respective Improvement Plans, with recommendations on measures/identification of objectives to reach and projects to implement to overcome the difficulties (Belgrade, November 2007).

2. The support to the finalisation of the Peer Reviews Reports and subsequent drafting of Improvement Plans and their translation in English.

3. Design and publication of promotional material to be distributed during the Annual General Assembly of the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities of Serbia (SCTM)
