Title Higher Education Expert Consultations and Information meetings 
Description Higher Education Expert Consultation and Information meetings with local experts and universities in order to :
1/To Interview local experts in order to select the ones to be engaged by CoE to prepare following reports:
- on past and ongoing initiatives related to QA in HE in Serbia
- on the recognition practice in HE in Serbia
- on past and ongoing initiatives contributing to a HEQF in Serbia (incl. ECTS, learning outcomes etc.)
2/ To define ToR with selected experts for each of the reports and to specify deadline for their submission,
3/ To attend a Information meeting with the University of Niš,
4/ To draft detailed workplan of project activities for the following trimester.

Activity Synopsis (ID# 21336) (Hide Synopsis)

Objective(s) Series of meetings held in between 17-20 December 2007 had two aims: to identify expert/s for the preparation of survey in HE in Serbia in the four Project components and to disseminate Project context, components, objectives to various HEIs, including institutions outside capital. 
Output/Results a. Interviews with local experts were held in order to commission survey in HE in Serbia. The inception phase showed the need to obtain more systematic data on the situation, trends and initiatives in the Project focal areas in order to prepare further actions fully in line the existing situation.

b. Meetings with representatives from various HEIs aimed at identifying their specific needs in the areas addressed by the Project. Main topics discussed were QA, and consequently involvement of HEIs in the ongoing accreditation procedure, as well as National qualifications framework

c. Expected outcome of the meeting with the Open Society Fund (NGO) was to identify activities of the Fund in the area of HE in Serbia in order to avoid overlapping but also to build on the current and future achievements of both organisations / projects. 
Conclusions/Follow Up a. Follow up is needed since local expert that was selected has to submit reports until mid February.
b. Other meetings - with private universities and University in Nis will be followed by various project activities based on the HEIs specific needs.
c. Future regular consultations are necessary in order to avoid overlapping and to be able to build on the respective achievements.

- representatives of various faculties from Nis University
- NGO (Open Society Fund) dealing with the education reform
