Activity Synopsis (ID# 22387) (Hide Synopsis)

Objective(s) The CoE expert came to Belgrade as planned on 03-04 April 2008 to discuss Serbian Standards and Guidelines (SSG) with Commission for Accreditation and Quality Assessment (CAQA). Existing Standards were discussed with CAQA at the plenary meeting and numbers of topics closely related to the issue were discussed as well: the ongoing accreditation procedure (developments / obstacles), the progress regarding proposals for the amendments of the Law on HE in particular the part dealing with QA issues, future steps. In depth discussion with the smaller group of CAQA members focused on few specific Standards – teaching load, space requirements and links between accreditation and “quality control”.
Output/Results At the meetings it was agreed that: new translation of Serbian Standards will be undertaken in order to ensure precise and consistent understanding; preparations for SWOT analysis will be expedited and seminar / conference on self-evaluation will be organized at the end of second cycle of accreditation, tentatively mid July 2008. Students’ involvement needs to be improved but the main reason - Students’ conference still not functional - remains.
Conclusions/Follow Up Three activities will follow: new translation of Serbian SG; finalization of SWOT analysis and conference on self-evaluation. It is expected that all three activities will be ready / finished end of August 2008.
