Title 33rd Meeting of the European Platform of Regulatory Authorities, hosted by the Broadcasting Council of ''the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia'' 
Description In May 2011 the Media JP enabled the participation of the National Broadcasting Council of Ukraine in the 33rd meeting of the European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA) held on 26-27 May 2011 in the city of Ohrid, Macedonia. CoE and European Commission representatives took part in the meeting.

Activity Synopsis (ID# 23591) (Hide Synopsis)

Objective(s) The project covered their participation costs, aiming at giving the representatives of the Council the opportunity to learn from best European practices and experience as regards new media regulation, radio broadcasting in a digital environment as well as increasing independence and efficiency of the regulators.

 
Output/Results
The knowledge acquired during this EPRA session is now being trasferred by the delegates to the staff of the regulatory authority, and the possibility of the development of Ukrainian regulatory policies in the areas of new media regulation and radio broadcasting in a digital environment is being explored. 
Conclusions/Follow Up The information on digital radio gave new impetus to the preparation of the forum “Digital broadcasting in Europe: technical, legal and regulatory aspects” that will be co-organized in Kyiv by the National Broadcasting Council and the Media JP on 27 October 2011, in the framewrok of the Ukraine’s Chairmanship.
