Activity Synopsis (ID# 23603) (Hide Synopsis)

Objective(s) to expose the Ukrainian broadcasting regulator to the pan-European discussion on the regulation of audiovisual media services 
Output/Results The delegates of the National Council of Ukraine for Television and Radio Broadcasting attended the sessions on protection of minors on new media, regulation of new media focusing on the on-demand services and challenges of defining jurisdiction, on the effective functioning of regulators. 
Conclusions/Follow Up The Ukrianian regulatory authority came with a conclusion that fundamental changes to the Law of Ukraine ''On Television and Radio Broadcasting'' are needed, specifically as regards including the technical neutrality principle and other areas discussed in the 34th EPRA session. Further policy advice from the JP experts is needed in this regard in early 2012. The National Council's experts would be ready to participate in this activity.
