Title Ljubljana Conference-Rehabilitating our common heritage
Description The Council of Europe and the European Commission have been carrying out a joint action entitled “Integrated Rehabilitation Project Plan/Survey of the Architectural and Archaeological Heritage” (IRPP/SAAH) since 2003. This joint action has encompassed a number of projects and activities, identifying needs and developing a new approach contributing to the social and economic development of the various communities in South-East Europe, as well as fostering European heritage values as a means of reconciliation and intercultural dialogue.
Following the launch of the final phase of the IRPP/SAAH (known as the “Ljubljana Process – Funding Heritage Rehabilitation in South-East Europe”) at the EU Presidency conference in May 2008, Slovenia wished to maintain and further develop its support to the regional heritage project by organising the “Ljubljana Conference – Rehabilitating our Common Heritage”. This conference took place on 6 and 7 November 2009 in Ljubljana in the context of the Slovenian Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
