Title Awareness campaign for promotion of ethical journalism and of the Press Council of Moldova as media self-regulatory mechanism 
Description The goal of campaign is to promote accountable journalism, ethical norms foreseen by the Journalist's Code of Ethics from the Republic Moldova and the Press Council of Moldova as a self-regulation structure which examines citizens' complaints against mass-media institutions. The campaign shall include posting of “city light”-type street banners in Romanian and Russian languages, containing promotional message/messages, in Chisinau municipality;
posting promotional banners on four of the most popular web portals; broadcasting audio promotion spots in Romanian and Russian languages, on five of the most popular radio stations; publishing the promotional banners in Romanian and Russian languages, in 20 national and local newspapers.

Output/Results An awareness campaign promoting journalistic ethics and accountability of media to the public was carried out during the month of October and November 2011. As result of the campaign the number of complains received by the Press Council was doubled.
