Title Workshop and expertise on the community policing curriculum of the police academy in the Republic of Moldova
Description Workshop and expertise on the community policing curriculum of the police academy in the Republic of Moldova.

During the workshop the CoE experts from Estonia and Finland and the representatives of the Police Academy “Stefan cel Mare” held discussions on the concept of community policing (leadership, strategic framework, police accountability), its relevance to the civil society, introduction of competency based police education and teaching community policing in higher education institutions. Additionally, the CoE experts provided their opinion on the reflection of the community policing principles in the current curriculum of the Police Academy. The participants to the workshop highly appreciated the interactive sessions during which they had the possibility to share their experience on subject matter topics - roles of uniformed officers in relation to community policing principles, methods of improving police officers work according to these principles, and ways of motivating police officers to work for the police service.
