Title Сonference “The High Qualofication Commission of Judges of Ukraine: The Acquired Experience''  
Description before the Conference the experts of the CoE will visit to Kiev in late September in order to conduct several meetings with members of the HQCJ and other stakeholders in order to get a clear picture about legislative background and current practise in the field of the functioning of the HQCJ and to prepare a written report, summarising the findings of the working meetings in Kiev.
during the Conference the experts will present ne[t topics:
1. Selection of candidates for judicial position for the first time;
2. Election to a judicial position for the life term and transfers of judges;
3. Disciplinary liability of the judge;
4. Ensuring qualification level of the judges;
5.Comparative analysis of institutions similar to the High Council of Justice of Ukraine (with reference to their status, competence, requirements for membership, procedure of establishment etc).;

Output/Results The purpose of this Conference was to discuss both the results obtained by the HQCJ during its first year of existence and the challenges it faced with respect to European standards in the light of the judicial reform in Ukraine. The selection of candidates for a first-time judicial position, the election to a lifetime judicial position and the transfer of judges were discussed along with, inter alia, the disciplinary liability of judges and judges’ qualifications.
 
Conclusions/Follow Up Following the Conference work, the participants adopted a resolution with recommendations for improvement of current legislation and practice of the HQCJ with respect to European standards in the field of justice.
