Activity Synopsis (ID# 36160) (Hide Synopsis)

Objective(s) Empower young people to further support the implementation of the GE online training courses of the Global Education Programme of NSC-CoE, as well as to develop competences of participants that are or will be actively involved in the implementation of the Universities. Additionally, The pedagogical team delineated the following objectives according to the profiles of participants: to facilitate competences development and transfer of innovation in educational strategies through a collaborative learning approach; to explore the philosophy and the implementation mechanisms of the Network of the Universities and of the e-learning courses as peer-learning and multiplier processes; to tackle the different contexts of implementation of global education.
Output/Results (1) 23 young trainers empowered to take an active role in the global education on-line training courses and residential activities of the Network of Universities on Youth and Global Citizenship; (2) mutual understanding and intercultural dialogue among the participants promoted; (3) co-operation among youth organisations and actors involved in the Network of Universities on Youth and Global Citizenship reinforced; (4) contribution from group of participants regarding assessment of GE online-courses collected.
Conclusions/Follow Up This training course focused on competences’ development of youth workers/trainers actively involved in the Universities and tackled issues such as the conceptual and methodological approach of GE, e-learning, and the different dimensions (pedagogical, logistical, political and financial aspects) that should be considered when designing, organising, implementing, empowering and sustaining a global education activity such as the Universities of Youth and Global Citizenship.
The Global Education and Youth Training of Trainers allowed a better understanding and perceptibility of the added value of Global Education and of Youth Co-operation for the capacity building of young people and for the empowerment of youth organisations. It analysed the NSC-CoE pedagogical tools, such as the GE online training courses and the Global Education Guidelines, and the pedagogical methods developed within the Network of Universities on Youth and Global Citizenship.
