Show Synopsis
Title Romanian National Seminar on Global/Development Education
Description The FOND Working Group on Development Education in Romania organised a National Seminar on Global/Development Education in Bucharest on 8-9 July with the support of the NSC. This seminar was held in partnership with the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Romanian Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sports and focused on “Setting the national framework for development education in Romania”. The objective of the seminar was to bring together key Romanian stakeholders in the field and raise awareness on GE/DE among governmental and non-governmental actors in order to create a multi-stakeholder process to prepare the national global/development education strategy. About 80 participants attended the seminar, representing central and local authorities, ministries, civil society, academia and media. The seminar focused on the communication and collaboration between NGOs and the governmental actors and the presentations covered interesting topics such as: theoretical approaches on GE/DE concepts, good practices in the field of GE/DE in Europe, financial opportunities and the national context of GE/DE.
