    Project Purpose 1      2010/DG4/JP/2390   EHD 2010 - European Heritage Days revisited 0
    (0 Activities) Narrative
To promote within Europe a sense of common cultural heritage, both tangible and intangible, in support of cultural identities and social linkages and as the foundation of future European citizenship.
Reinforcement of the European dimension of our common European heritage by specific initiatives aimed at this.  Dissemination of visibility material (continued development of the internet site, publications, posters, TV programmes, video clip on the Days etc.) to ensure that the EHDs have resonance throughout each year.  Continuation of the European Heritage Days (EHDs) within the framework of this programme between the Council of Europe and the European Commission - the continuation of the Annual Covenant is essential for the EHDs.
Expected Result 1.1 A third European Heritage Forum will have been organised on ''Cultural Heritage, Participation and Prosperity''. The Forum should confirm its vocation as the annual crossroads of heritage specialists in Europe.
The third forum will have been organised in one of the States parties to the European Cultural Convention for a wide public including the EHD national coordinators, members of the CDPATEP, heritage specialists from member states, international institutions and organisations, INGOs etc.

Preparation of the programme of the Forum and the report which should be widely disseminated in member States and be put on the website.

Willingness of member States to host such Forums and continuation of the co-financing with the European Commission.
Expected Result 1.2 ''Open days'', and national, regional and local events will have been organised in the member States and by the Council of Europe during its ''Open days''.
The States parties to the European Cultural Convention will have continued to organise the annual events linked to the European Heritage Days and several regional actions will have taken place. Information including the annual leaflet will be available on the EHDs web site.

The national EHD coordinators will have sent in their annual reports on the events and the results will be put on the internet site.

Willingness of the coordinators to continue supplying the necessary information and continuation of the ''Open days'' at the Council of Europe.
Expected Result 1.3 Visibility for the EHDs will have been reinforced with the development of the internet site and the finalisation and dissemination of a brochure on the 25th anniversary of the Days. A series of TV programmes will have been broadcast widely in Europe and contributions to magazines on ''our common European heritage'' will have been continued.
2010 will be the second year where the TV programmes will be broadcast. Editions of the magazines on ''our common European heritage'' will have been produced. The meetings with TV programme developers and editors responsible for heritage magazines will have continued.

The visibility material will have been produced and the internet site maintained. The TV programmes should be continued and extended during 2010 and the magazines on the cultural heritage will have continued to have been produced.

Willingness of TV channels and editors to contribute to this part of the EHD programme and also willingness in the European Commission to continue with the annual covenant.
