    Project Purpose 1      2015/CDL/JP/3229   Long term electoral assistance to the election related stakeholders of Armenia - Venice Commission 95 000 
    (2 Activities) Narrative
    Align electoral legislation and its implementation with the principles of the European Electoral Heritage;
    Ensure that electoral practice is compliant with the principles of the European Electoral Heritage.
        The authorities are ready to co-operate 
    Expected Result 1.1 Legislation on elections and/or political parties is amended so as to meet international standards.
    A joint legal opinion of the Venice Commission and the OSCE/ODIHR is formulated in order to improve the electoral legal framework. This contains recommendations for improving the electoral legislation and/or legislation on political parties as well as practice

    Expected Result 1.2 Capacities of CEC members and electoral bodies at all levels are enhanced in order to organise elections in line with international standards, such as voters’ registration, equal opportunities for all electoral stakeholders, the use of administrative resources and financial transparency - and in the settlement of disputes; the Venice Commission will provide capacity-building to the CEC, which is expected to pass down the benefits of this co-operation to inferior electoral commissions.
    Skills of Central Electoral Commission members are improved and the capacity of electoral bodies at all levels is enhanced in order to organise elections in line with international standards.
