To promote within Europe a sense of common cultural heritage, both tangible and intangible, in support of cultural identities and social linkages and as the foundation of future European citizenship. Reinforcement of the European dimension of our common European heritage by specific initiatives aimed at this.  Dissemination of visibility material (continued development of the internet site, publications, posters, TV programmes, video clip on the Days etc.) to ensure that the EHDs have resonance throughout each year.  Continuation of the European Heritage Days (EHDs) within the framework of this programme between the Council of Europe and the European Commission - the continuation of the Annual Covenant is essential for the EHDs.
