    To raise standards of journalism with a view to ensuring that the Ukrainian public is better informed about political and social processes in Ukraine and provide continuing support to the process of enhancing the media legislative framework.

    Noticeable progress towards a more independent and impartial coverage of events of public interest, making the public service broadcaster a more credible source of information for the public public.

    Number of laws and regulations adopted or amended in accordance with Council of Europe standards.
     

    CoE mission reports.
    Reports of different CoE structures.
    Reports of NGOs and other IGOs.
    Judgements delivered by national courts.
    Reports on follow up given to the legislative expertises.

    Expected Result 1.6 Improvements in the mechanisms for co-operation and dialogue between journalists, civil society representatives and state officials
    Media/state relations/civil society isimproved in 4-5 oblasts/regions
    A manual with the case studies from these pilot projects is produced and distributed
    Presentation on the pilot results held for decision makers in Kiev with recommendations for improved collaboration on policy formulation

    On-line guidance for different stakeholders as regards the implementation of the law on the protection of personal data is developed
    A Code of Conduct for the media sector as regards the implementation of the law on protection of personal data is developed
    Collisions between the access to information law and the data protection law are avoided
