    The project aims at increasing the performance of the justice system, especially by strengthening the efficiency and quality of the Court system and enforcement system in Albania

     

     

     
    Project Purpose 1      2014/DG I/JP/3140   EU-CoE Project to increase the efficiency of the Albanian justice system, in line with European standards - Support to the implementation of the Justice Reform Strategy“ 1 149 866 
    To improve the efficiency and the quality of the public services of justice delivered to the Albanian citizens by the court system in accordance with European standards      
    Expected Result 1.1 The efficiency and effectiveness of courts and court proceedings are enhanced
    Adjudication times are decreased.
    The main shortcomings as regards the overall functioning of the Albanian justice system and time and case management at the court level are identified. Steps are taken at the national and the court level to address them. Improvements in the data collection process take place as a result of the action carried out under the project.

    Number of trainings and study visits held.
    The main shortcomings as regards court organisation and court administrators’ capacity are identified and steps are taken to address them. CEPEJ tools become an integral part of the training modules for judges and court staff.

    Expected Result 1.3 The quality of the public service of justice and courts in improved
    CEPEJ satisfaction surveys are applied in all ten selected courts and tailored court action plans are formulated to address reasons for dissatisfaction. An assessment on the accessibility of the public to court decisions reveals the main shortcomings in this field and proposes adequate solutions at early stages of project implementation. The compatibility of regulations on the relations between court and media with relevant European standards is improved.
